DefinitionsHow we define isolation
Evacuation is achievable within a working day under normal conditions. Ground or short-notice air transport is available without special arrangement.
Evacuation requires pre-arranged air support, favourable weather, or both. A window of 12–24 hours between incident and definitive care is typical even when the plan works.
Evacuation depends on scheduled resupply windows, weather-permitting helicopter access, or a multi-day self-extraction. Some sections of these routes have no viable emergency exit at all.

Your application, fitness history and expedition experience reach a person, not a queue. Nothing is auto-approved.
A route-appropriate medical screen against the route's stated fitness prerequisite and any conditions you disclose. This is the stage most applications are declined at, and we would rather decline here than in the field.
A conversation, not a formality — about your experience, your expectations, and the specific hazards on the route you applied for.
Only now does a deposit become payable. No route on this site accepts payment before this stage.
Every status change on an application is written to an append-only audit ledger. Declines can happen at any stage; approvals only happen once, at the end.
