For Iceland: Askja Caldera & Vatnajökull Highland Traverse, the stated evacuation window is 24 hours under prevailing mountain and weather conditions. The isolation profile is classified as Severe. All expedition parties carry dual-redundant satellite communication terminals (Iridium Extreme and Garmin inReach), wilderness trauma kits, and maintain direct comms with our regional medical director and rotary rescue dispatch.

Point Zero provides all group expedition hardware, four-season shelters, satellite emergency infrastructure, and high-altitude catering. Explorers are required to provide their personal technical kit, including: Gore-Tex Pro waterproof storm jacket and bibs (min 28,000mm rating), Heavy-duty dust/ash goggles and toxic gas respirator mask, Four-season hurricane-rated tent, -15°C synthetic or hydrophobic down sleeping bag, Dual-frequency GPS navigator with offline highland topographic map. Detailed gear inspection occurs prior to field departure.
Each departure is strictly capped at 8 explorers to ensure maximum route safety, rapid mobility, and negligible ecological footprint. Expeditions are led exclusively by certified UIAGM/IFMGA mountain guides and certified Arctic/wilderness medical specialists.
The total route investment is $6,900. Applications undergo thorough medical and guide interview review. No deposit is accepted until your application is approved. Following formal approval, a deposit of $1,800 secures your place on the departure manifest.
