Sheet 08Method

Three controls run before anyone leaves base.

Not a mission statement — a short list of rules we can point to on the page, every time, rather than ask you to trust.

  1. Truth before comfort

Most operators lead with a photo and bury the numbers that actually decide whether a route is right for you. We do the opposite: the evacuation window, isolation level and fitness prerequisite appear before any marketing copy, on every route page, at the same visual weight as the price. If a number would change how you feel about going, it does not get a smaller font.

ControlNo route is published without its medevac window and fitness prerequisite.

  2. Evidence, labelled

A route can be open for applications before every detail on its page has been walked and timed by our own team. Rather than wait for full verification, we publish at every stage — unverified, in field review, verified — and say which one applies, next to the content itself rather than in a footnote. Read the Journal for what that looks like on an actual reconnaissance trip.

ControlProvenance status is shown beside the content it describes.

  3. A person reads every application

Submitting an application is not a booking. It moves through medical review against that specific route's risk profile, then an interview, before anyone is approved — and a deposit becomes payable only once you are. Every status change, on every application, is written to an append-only audit ledger, so the review process is accountable the same way the route data is.

ControlEvery status change is written to an append-only audit ledger.

See it applied to a real route.
