Who these terms cover

These terms govern your use of this site and any application, deposit, or booking made with Point Zero Expeditions ("we", "us"). By using the site or submitting an application, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

This site publishes route information and takes applications. It is not an instant-booking platform: no route can be purchased directly, and no payment is requested until an application has been approved.

Applications and eligibility

Submitting an application is not a booking and creates no obligation on either side until we approve it. Every application moves through medical review and an interview, described in full on the Safety page.

You must give accurate information in your application, including medical and fitness history. Misrepresenting it is grounds for declining an application or, if discovered after approval, cancelling a booking without refund.

We may decline any application, at any stage, at our discretion — most often on medical or fitness grounds — and where we do, we will tell you the specific reason.

Pricing, deposits, and payment

Prices shown are per person in the currency displayed and are subject to change until a deposit is paid; the price at the time your deposit is charged is the price that applies to your booking.

A deposit becomes payable only after your application is approved. Payment is processed by a third-party payment provider; we never see or store your full card details.

The balance of the trip price, and its due date, will be set out in writing once you are approved — it is not collected through this site.

Cancellations and refunds

If you cancel: deposits are refundable in full up to 90 days before departure, minus any processing or logistics costs already committed on your behalf (permits, non-refundable bookings). Inside 90 days, refundability depends on whether your place can be reassigned; we will confirm the specific terms for your route in writing before you pay a deposit.

If we cancel a departure — for safety, permitting, weather, or insufficient group size — your deposit is refunded in full, and we will help you transfer to another departure or route if you would rather do that than receive a refund.

Travel and evacuation insurance is not included in any route's price and is not a substitute for reading the risk profile on that route's page. You are responsible for arranging coverage adequate to that route's isolation level before departure.

Assumption of risk

The expeditions listed on this site are remote, physically demanding, and in places carry a real risk of serious injury or death, including in circumstances where evacuation is delayed by hours or days as stated on each route's page. You should read the Safety page and that route's specific risk profile in full before applying.

By applying for and participating in an expedition, you acknowledge these risks and voluntarily accept them as an inherent part of remote expedition travel. Before any booking is confirmed, you will be asked to sign a separate, route-specific waiver and assumption-of-risk agreement that sets this out in full — these terms do not replace that document.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the acts of independent third parties involved in delivering an expedition (permitting bodies, local operators, medical or evacuation providers) except where we have failed to exercise reasonable care in selecting or instructing them.

Nothing here limits our liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, where such a limitation would be unlawful.

Acceptable use of this site

You agree not to misuse the site: no attempting to bypass rate limits or security controls, no scraping route or pricing data for commercial reuse, and no submitting an application with false information.

We may suspend or terminate access for anyone who misuses the site.

Governing law

These terms, and the governing law and jurisdiction that apply to them, will be specified here and in your route-specific booking agreement. If you have a question about which law applies to your booking, contact us before applying.

Changes to these terms

These terms were last updated in September 2026. We may update them from time to time; the version in effect when you submit an application is the one that applies to it.
